Albemarle Croquet Club was established in 2022.
Our 4 lawns (courts), are regulation size (84 X 105), of which are composed of sandy loam soils, GPS Lazer leveled and comprised of grass (a select hybrid Bermuda), suitable to our existing climate. The site is irrigated from a man made pond which is naturally spring fed. The grass which is maintained at a prescribed height at .125 inches provides excellent speed and accuracy for professional competition.
Our Club and its members are recognized by the United States Croquet Association, home based in Florida. Our venue has been sanctioned by the USCA as a viable asset to croquet participation within the context of scheduled tournaments and events. We provide tournament headquarters for high level players from all over the country, as well as local participants young and old. We are striving to invigorate the sport to include, but not limit any participants due to age, gender, race or social background.
